SYMPTOMS

rabies has many symptoms. too many for me to list simply. instead, i will go into concerning detail about all of them as they come to me.

JK!

here are the main categories of symptoms:

  1. PHYSICAL
  2. MENTAL
  3. RESIDUAL

great, a list, but what does that mean? NOW, i will go into concerning detail about all of the symptoms currently known and associated with rabies.

PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS.

physical symptoms are some of the first you will see. unlike mental symptoms, these show early on after the incubation phase of the virus. some of the first symptoms you will experience will be things like:

these are mostly symptoms of the common cold or flu, making it hard to immediately diagnose as rabies. this is why you should always go immediately to a health professional if bitten by a wild animal.

once the virus reaches the salivary glands, the real symptoms start to show. the virus will continue to infect the bloodstream and work its way to the infected's brain, all while trying to spread to a new victim. rabies is a smart virus, and its main goal is to Spread. it can do so via the next wave of symptoms, such as:

all of these symptoms and are very serious and what lead to the final phase of rabies. this is the phase where people die.

MENTAL SYMPTOMS.

contrary to popular belief, the rabies virus is a neurological virus, meaning it attacks the central nervous system more-so than the body itself. rabies affects the brain the way that the common cold or flu affects the throat and lungs. some of the immediate effects of rabies on the mind include:

many of these things can be seen as basic mental issues from an outsiders perspective, but they are actually the beginning of what makes rabies so difficult to deal with. these initial symptoms will only worsen in time, and furthering into other symptoms as the virus progresses through the body. once the virus establishes itself in the body, other mental symptoms include:

RESIDUAL SYMPTOMS.
